Growing up in a joint family in Naogaon district was like a bed of roses, filled with warmth, laughter and unconditional love. Despite losing my parents, my siblings and their offspring made sure that we were never left feeling like fish out of water. Now, living in Dhaka with my small family feels like a whole new ball game. My wife, who is a designer, has been the anchor that keeps us grounded. She not only loves her work to the moon and back but also takes care of us with the utmost dedication.
My wife's love and responsibilities towards our family leave no stone unturned. She takes our daughters to school and picks them up, and she is an excellent home tutor for them. Not only that, but she is also responsible for preparing breakfast and lunch for my office, which is no small feat. Her cooking is out of this world, which is why I call her the MasterChef of the earth. She is also an excellent homemaker, and our house is always spick and span.
My elder daughter, Naba Islam, who is now in second grade, is a real whiz kid. She is as sharp as a tack and has a talent for programming in Python. On the other hand, my younger daughter, Saba Islam, hasn't started school yet. While she tries to study at home, most of the time, she is as happy as a clam playing games or watching videos on her mobile.
All in all, my family, both the one I grew up in and the one I have now, has been my rock, and I feel as happy as a lark to have them in my life.
